This is the roadshow of the year. See how field crops and forestry can be combined. Dr. Andy Gordon will lead a guided tour of his agro-forestry research plots at the University of Guelph, and there will be ample time to explore one of the most important and most extensive arboretums in Canada, including the American Elm Recovery project. A visit to the highly acclaimed Verbinnen’s Nursery of native trees and shrubs is an added bonus.
This tour is limited to 50 attendees (unless we can fill 2 buses) and you must register by June 30 with John Potter. There’s no cost for members but $35 for non-members. Bring a lunch & note book. Assembly point to be arranged.

Elizabeth is not only the leader of the federal Green Party of Canada, she is also the past Executive Director of the Sierra Club, Order of Canada recipient, lawyer, author & environmentalist. This is truly an once in a lifetime opportunity to meet and interact with one of the leading voices for environmental sustainability in Canada. Don’t miss this chance! Routsky & Smith Woodlots, Concession 3 Road, West Lincoln

Harvesting firewood is dangerous, demanding and rewarding. Come and learn about three radically different techniques with horses, a tracked J-5 Bombardier and a tractor with a Farmi-wench. You will also have the chance to walk the Routsky woodlot which recently had sawlog & firewood harvests and the Smith woodlot that is having a firewood harvest. The benefits will be obvious!! We don’t have to tell you to dress for the outdoors! Or do we??
Meet at the Smith woodlot; from Victoria Avenue (RR 24) travel west on Hwy 20 through Bismarck onto RR 65.Turn south on Smithville Rd. (RR 14) & travel 1.4 km to Concession 3 Rd. Turn west and travel 1.3 kms to the field access on the north side of road. and just east of #8214.
